Serial Lover Privacy Policy
Last Updated: December 3, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Serial Lover (“the Game”) handles data related to its online leaderboard system.
The Game collects no personal information and does not identify players.
By using the leaderboard feature, you agree to the practices described below.
1. Information We Collect
When you complete a rhythm track and submit a score to the online leaderboard, the Game sends the following data to our server:
Gameplay Data
-
A recording of your inputs during the track (timing and keybound actions only)
-
The date and time of the submission
-
Track identifier and difficulty
-
Score, accuracy, and max combo
Anonymous Player Identifier
-
A randomly generated user ID used only to:
-
associate your score with your device’s leaderboard profile
-
allow updating your existing score if you beat it
-
This user ID cannot identify you and does not contain or reveal any personal information.
The Game does not collect your name, email, IP address (beyond what the server logs for normal security), location, device identifiers, or any other personally identifiable information.
2. How We Use the Data
Your submitted data is used only for the following purposes:
-
Verifying that your score is valid through server-side simulation
-
Adding or updating your score on the leaderboard
-
Displaying leaderboard rankings to players
-
Detecting cheating or invalid submissions
Your user ID is never publicly displayed, and it is not returned to players when leaderboard data is fetched.
3. What We Do NOT Do
We do not:
-
Collect personal data
-
Sell or share data with third parties
-
Track users across devices or services
-
Use analytics or advertising systems in the leaderboard
-
Link gameplay data to any real-world identity
4. Data Storage and Security
Leaderboard data is stored in a secured database accessible only to the Game’s developer.
We take reasonable steps to protect data, including:
-
Server-side validation
-
Secure connections (HTTPS)
-
Limited database access
5. Data Retention
Leaderboard entries may be stored indefinitely so players can compare scores over time.
If the leaderboard system is shut down in the future, all stored data will be permanently deleted.
6. Third-Party Services
The leaderboard operates only on our own servers.
We do not use third-party services for data processing or storage.
7. Children’s Privacy
Because no personal data is collected, the leaderboard system is suitable for players of all ages.
However, the Game itself may contain mature content and is intended for older audiences.
8. Changes to This Policy
If this policy is updated, the new version will be made available on the Game’s website and/or within the Game.
Continued use of the leaderboard means you accept the updated policy.
